Moment drug dealer, 32, mounts pavement in stolen Mercedes AMG during 80mph police chase through central London as he is jailed for five years

A drug dealer was spotted speeding a stolen Mercedes AMG through central London in a police chase that ended in him being jailed for five years. 

Ali Hussain, 32, of Westminster, was sentenced to five years and two months in prison last Monday after pleading guilty to seven offences including possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and causing serious injury by dangerous driving. 

He was seen by officers on June 3 while driving in the Mercedes with fake number plates.

Police tried to stop him at a red light but Hussain sped off, driving on pavements at 80mph in a 30mph zone. 

Footage shows Hussain driving recklessly through a pedestrian crossing and narrowly missing a woman walking across the road.  

He then drives through a roundabout on the wrong side of the road before officers crash into him to stop him.

Class A and B drugs were found inside the car. 

PC Stuart MacPherson, the arresting officer said: 'Whilst my colleagues and I usually spend our time stopping and arresting moped enabled criminals, we also support other uniformed colleagues in arresting those who use the roads in a dangerous manner. 

'This case is such an example whereby Op Venice officers were in the right place at the right time to arrest Hussain.

'Hussain clearly showed how little he values the lives of others, and himself, when he cut through red lights, mounted the pavement and cut across a roundabout on the wrong side of the road. His excess speeding also put so many people in the way of danger when he didn't need to.'
