Anthony Seibold is handed the names of MORE high-profile figures who spread false rumours about his daughter, drugs and footy WAGS

Anthony Seibold is continuing his mission to track down social media trolls who spread salacious false rumours about his personal life. 

The Brisbane Broncos coach launched his own investigation into the smear campaign by hiring lawyers and cyber investigators after quitting his job less than two seasons through his five-year contract. 

He took action after months of torment, with trolls continuing to spread lies, including false claims Seibold slept with player's partners, had taken cocaine and that his wife had left him. There is no truth to any of the claims.

It is believed the false rumours were started destabilise his position at the Broncos.

Anthony Seibold fought back tears as he recalled the false rumours about his young daughter

In an interview with 60 Minutes, Seibold revealed it was a false rumour about his daughter's mental health that was the most painful to read.

'The very last message upset me the most because it spoke about daughter. For my mum and dad too it was hard for them to see those messages,' he told the program.

'I don't know what the motivation was for those messages.'

Seibold opened up on damaging toll the false claims had on he and his family. 

'In some ways it's like the wild west out there. My situation went viral with defamatory comments. My reputation was ruined in a lot of respects,' Seibold said. 

'I went through some pretty dark times there a few weeks back because the amount of hate and defamatory comments that was spread. And people were happy to spread.

'And that's not the Australia that I grew up in.'

Seibold was forced to exit the Broncos' quarantine bubble in early August to stay in Sydney with his family for personal reasons.

He returned to Brisbane several days later and quit the Broncos within days of completing his mandatory 14-days of quarantine.

Seibold has been working hard to find the source of the false claims since his departure from Brisbane in August. 

He was handed more high-profile names of those who allegedly started or spread the lies just last week. 

However, Seibold is keeping the names secret as his investigation into the smear campaign continues. 

Of the new names released, none are connected to the NSWRL.

Seibold has claimed that among the names previously tracked down was a well-known identity working within the game. 

No action has yet been taken against anyone regarding the rumours.

NSW Rugby League boss David Trodden is confident none his full-time employees were behind a vicious social media campaign against Anthony Seibold

NSW Rugby League boss David Trodden was shocked by the allegation there was link between his organisation and the scandal.

He is confident none his full-time employees were behind a vicious social media campaign. 

Trodden was desperate to investigate the matter himself, calling the NRL on Monday morning before speaking with Seibold's representatives.

'While the various parties are unable to provide the identity of the person involved because of ongoing police investigations, I am confident that the person is not a full-time employee of NSWRL,' Trodden said.

'Trolling is appalling ... and action should be taken if it is properly proven.

'It should never be tolerated and we feel for Anthony Seibold and his family for what he has been put through. 

'Equally, it is really important for me, as CEO of NSWRL, to make it clear that none of our employees are involved in the alleged behaviour.'

The emotional toll of the rumours could be seen on a drained Anthony Seibold when he quit as Brisbane Broncos coach in August 

The NSWRL employees 93 people, and Trodden feared at this stage all had been implicated by the public claims and tarred with the same brush.

'I was totally surprised to hear what was said and disappointed that serious allegations like that would appear when we knew nothing of them,' Trodden told AAP.

'They are really serious issues that need to be taken seriously ad investigated and dealt with properly.'

June 2020:  The Broncos' woes continue the following week with an embarrassing 59-0 loss against the Sydney Roosters, the club's worst ever defeat.

August 8 2020: Seibold exits the NRL quarantine bubble to stay in Sydney with his family for personal reasons following his side's loss against the Rabbitohs. He returns to Brisbane several days later to undergo 14 days of quarantine

August 11 2020: Seibold hires lawyers in response to false rumours about his personal life being circulated online
