Grandson is trampled by bull as he tries to rescue his grandmother, 70, from attack before the angry animal knocks them both flying

This is the moment a brave grandson was trampled by a bull as he tried to rescue his elderly grandmother after she was knocked down by the charging animal. 

The 70-year-old woman was attacked by the angry bull as she walked down an alleyway just before 6am on September 27 in northern India's Haryana state.

CCTV footage shows the elderly woman trying to walk past the bull when it charges towards her and headbutts her off her feet.

Her grandson rushes to help her up and tries to shield the elderly woman from the angry animal as nearby residents rush to their aid

The threatening bull towers over the elderly woman after forcefully knocking her onto her back.

Her grandson, who witnessed the attack, fearlessly runs down the alleyway to try and save her from further injury.

But he is trampled by the powerful animal, which kicks and headbutts him as he struggles to crawl out from under the animal's hoofs.

He manages to scramble clear of the angry bovine and lift his grandmother off the ground, leading her backwards away from the animal.

The woman's grandson was trampled by the bull and then they were both thrown through the air by the bull when they tried to flee the scene 

As they try to escape, the bull charges at them again and throws them both backwards through the air.

Other residents begin rushing out of their homes to assist the elderly woman and her grandson, with one man appearing brandishing a long stick.

The man hits the ground next to the bull to scare it before he runs backwards away from the animal.

The elderly woman suffered a fracture to one of her hands in the attack.

Her brave grandson is reportedly undergoing treatment following the incident.
