For an hour before the game, players from both teams discussed how to approach the situation. It was originally thought that the game would be played, but after Washington went into the locker room, the team decided not to play.
Before the game, Washington players had arrived wearing T-shirts that spelled out Jacob Blake and featured seven red bullet holes in the back, signifying the number of times he was shot by a police officer. He remained hospitalized on Wednesday.
