He emerged on Sunday looking a lot different from his Hollywood heartthrob days with a more bloated and aged appearance.

But that is certainly not affecting Keanu Reeve's chances with the ladies.

The 48-year-old was seen enjoying Cannes cocktail hour on a private boat with a mystery blonde over the weekend.

The Matrix star was spotted indulging in a glass of champagne during a lunch hosted by Len Blavatnik, Harvey Weinstein and Warner Music during the 66th Cannes Film Festival.

The actor was on board the Odessa at the Old Port and was clearly having a good time.

Keanu was seen laughing and chatting along with his blonde friend as he also mingled with other guests, including actress Naomie Harris and singer Joss Stone.

So it came as a shock to see the Hollywood hunk look anything less than handsome during his Cannes day out on Sunday.

Unfortunately, the actor stepped onto the yacht looking bloated and aged.

Attempting to hold onto his Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventures youth, the star wore his black locks long in a beach-boy style that only acted as a harsh contrast to his ageing face.

Perhaps a late night of partying caused his eyes to appear puffier than usual, but the actor looked tired nonetheless.

Credit unions will go head-to-head with payday lenders after the Government announced it would raise the cap on interest charges so that unions do not make losses on short-term loans. The Treasury yesterday confirmed it will introduce legislation that from April 2014 would raise the interest rate ceiling on credit union loans from two per cent to three per cent a month following a consultation with lenders. Three per cent a month works out at APR of 42.6 per cent. Currently, restrictions on interest rates mean that while unions can make decent returns on long-term loans, loans of a similar length to those offered by payday lenders tend to operate at a loss. Helping hand: Short-term credit union loans will be more expensive, but more sustainable for unions and still well cheaper than payday loans.
