President Donald Trump denied a report that he will prematurely declare himself the winner of the 2020 presidential election on Tuesday night if it appears he is 'ahead' of Joe Biden, even if a ton of Electoral College votes are still unknown. 'No, no that was a false report,' he told reporters after he landed in North Carolina for his third rally of the day.  But he did warn he is ready to send in lawyers to states like Pennsylvania to dispute ballots. Stanford researchers blame Trump rallies for 700 coronavirus deaths and 30,000 new infections

President Donald Trump’s packed rallies may have led to 700 COVID-19 related deaths and 30,000 additional coronavirus cases, according to a new report. Researchers with the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research looked at the number of coronavirus cases and deaths in the weeks after Trump held 18 massive rallies between June 20 and September 22 – three of which were held indoors. Researchers compared the spread of the virus in the counties that held the rallies to counties that had similar coronavirus case trajectories before the rallies were held. They found that the rallies increased subsequent cases of COVID-19 by over 250 infections per 100,000 residents. Extrapolating that figure to the 18 rallies led researchers to conclude the events resulted in more than 30,000 COVID-19 cases.  'The communities in which Trump rallies took place paid a high price in terms of disease and death,' the study published Friday on open access preprint platform SSRN said. The men in custody are between 25 and 63-years-old and were spotted on video surveillance or detained in homes searched by police as part of the investigation. Trump warns of Democrats' lax-immigration policies as he brings back The Snake poem for his North Carolina rally crowd and wraps up his third event in five battleground states after earlier events with Ivanka and Hope Hicks

President Donald Trump  battled the weather at his second rally in his five-rally swing Sunday, this time fighting the bitter Iowa wind instead of Michigan's snow. 'I'm standing up and this is a hell of a lot of wind,' he told the cheering crowd on Sunday. 'It's lucky you have a president that doesn't need a teleprompter because these things are useless,' he added. And he got in a hit at rival Joe Biden, saying he wouldn't be able to speak under such circumstances.  'That wind, I don't know about you, but that wind is hitting me hard,' he said. And then he pointed to daughter Ivanka Trump, who was there watching the rally. 'My poor daughter is standing there freezing,' he said. It was 37 degrees in Dubuque. 'Sleepy Joe would be lost,' he said using the moniker he's given Biden. Both candidates use teleprompters in their speeches but Trump often goes off script while Biden does not.
