how does man 26 survive? he was flung from his ford mustang just before it hit a tree and exploded into flames
A Melbourne driver has had a miracle escape after he was thrown from his high-powered Ford Mustang as it smashed into a tree and then exploded in a fireball.
The man, 26, from Point Cook, suffered only minor injuries in Sunday evening's spectacular crash on Geelong Road, near Footscray Cemetery in Yarraville.
But his 2018 black Mustang - costing up to $130,000 - was left a molten mass of twisted metal after it erupted in flames and burnt out in the shocking smash.
A V8 10-speed 336kW Mustang can accelerate from a standstill to 100km/h in just 4.3 seconds and has a restricted top speed of 250km/h.

Victoria Police are now investigating if speed was a factor.
'The driver is lucky to have survived,' said a spokesman.
'Just as the car was passing Footscray General Cemetery, it’s believed the driver has lost control, hitting a give way sign before crashing into a tree.
'The male driver was ejected from the car and the Mustang burst into flames.
'The 26-year-old Point Cook man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and will be spoken to by police at a later date.'
