'Come and get it!': Teenager, 19, who stole Matt Hancock's cap taunts him to retrieve it - but says she 'only did it as a joke' and now her mother and GRANDMOTHER have a crush on the ex-Health Secretary

A teenager who was part of a group of laughing women that playfully nicked Matt Hancock's baseball cap has taunted the former Health Secretary by telling him: 'Come and get it'.

In video originally posted on TikTok, Mr Hancock, 42, was filmed wearing a facemask in the cheeky encounter on a District Line train at around 9pm on Saturday, during which his hat was pinched twice by the group of women on a night out.

The Tory, who was wearing red shorts and a navy polo shirt, stands up to cheer and applause after three of the women, not covering their faces, surround his seat and ask: 'Are you really Matt Hancock?'

A woman in a blue dress then whips his hat off his head and dances around the carriage wearing it. The shamed MP then makes his way to the standing area of the carriage, where he then appears on camera with his hat returned to him.

The women huddle around Mr Hancock and as they approach their stop say: 'We're loving Matt. We don't want to get off.' But as they pull into their station the hat is stolen from his head and the same woman runs off the Tube with it in her hand.

Before the women left, the ex-Health Secretary could be heard saying: 'You go and enjoy yourselves.'

Georgia Lewis, from Rayleigh, Essex, was one of the girls out partying on Saturday night, and is now offering it back to him, insisting she 'only did it as a joke'.

The 19-year-old also told the Mirror how her mother and grandmother both have a crush on the disgraced former minister.

Georgia said: 'My nan said 'he's not a bad looking chap is he'. My mum agreed. They appreciated the good looks of him.

'I thought he had a bit of a tan. He was looking a bit bronzed up. Everyone seems to think he's a ladies' man now.'

It was a rare public appearance for Mr Hancock, two months after he was forced to quit the Government for breaking Covid rules with his mistress.

Georgia and her friends initially mistook the disgraced ex-minister for a man called 'Will', whom they'd met a few days earlier, only to be shocked to actually see the man who was at the heart of Britain's Covid response for more than a year.

The tanning salon worker admitted the group 'felt bad' afterwards that Mr Hancock would likely be identified on the rest of his journey, suggesting he had worn the cap in the first place to try and keep a low profile.

She also denied that he was flirting with her and her friends, insisting he was 'just being nice'.

She added: 'He's more than welcome to have it back. We don't want to steal it. We just wanted pictures in it. I said 'thanks for the hat' and he just put his thumb up.'

It comes after onlookers had earlier claimed that Mr Hancock was 'clearly loving the attention, but I think stealing the hat was a bit too much'.

They told the Sun: 'It was all good-natured fun but I think if that had been me and not a group of drunk women, then it would be a different story.

'He looked uncomfortable after it happened because, I guess, it left him exposed for the rest of the journey.

'People could see who he was more clearly. He shouted after them to give it back and he tried to keep it on his head when the woman grabbed it, but she was too fast for him.'

M Hancock was forced to quit the Cabinet in June when CCTV from his Whitehall office was leaked of him kissing his married aide Gina Coladangelo in breach of Covid social-distancing guidance.

For weeks, Mr Hancock has been riding out the waves of public anger by keeping a low profile as he tries to avoid political wipeout

In the wake of the scandal, he reportedly told his wife Martha that their marriage was over and announced he would be spending time away from the spotlight to focus on his three children.

Last week, the Tory backbencher was pictured enjoying a seaside holiday in Cornwall, where he was seen in the same resort as his wife and their three children. The holiday comes just two months after he was moving boxes, suitcases and clothes out of his marital home in London.

He is reportedly already plotting his ministerial comeback.

Miss Coladangelo, 44, also has three children with her husband Oliver Tress, who founded Oliver Bonas, the homeware chain.
