A former Arsenal youth footballer was today jailed for three-and-a-half years after he pleaded guilty to a sex offence against a 14-year-old girl.
Tyrell Robinson, 23, who was initially arrested in August 2018 following allegations of sexual assault, admitted engaging in sexual activity with a child, making an indecent image of a child and distributing an indecent image of a child via Snapchat.
The winger, from Essex, was sacked by his former team Bradford City for gross misconduct after he was charged. He appeared at Bradford Crown Court on Tuesday.
Robinson admitted engaging in sexual activity with the teenager in Bradford on August 13, 2018.
In June last year he entered a guilty plea to making and distributing an indecent image of a child via Snapchat on the same date.
He denied a further charge of distributing an indecent photograph of a child in December 2017, and the court heard the prosecution would not proceed with this count.

The winger, who signed a one-year deal with Bradford City in May 2017, was ordered to sign the sex offenders' register during a court appearance in June.
A second defendant, Korrie Berman, 22, from Essex, originally pleaded not guilty to five charges of engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a child.
Shortly before the trial hearings were due to start, Berman changed his not guilty plea and pleaded guilty to five counts of engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a girl under 16.

Today he was sentenced six years. Detective Chief Inspector Alan Weekes, of Bradford District Police, said: 'We welcome the prison sentences that have been handed down to both Berman and Robinson today.

'Given their guilty pleas, they have spared their victims from going through the court process.'
'We would like to reassure anyone who has been a victim of sexual abuse that you will be listened to and supported by the police. We have specially trained officers in our safeguarding units who are committed to bringing perpetrators to justice.
'Anyone who has been a victim of sexual abuse or crime is encouraged to contact the police and report any offences.'
In August 2018, police were contacted by two of the victims to report the offences and a further girl also came forward.
All of the three victims were female, aged 14 and the offences happened in the Bradford District.

Both men were arrested in relation to the offences and then subsequently charged by police.
Following Robinson's arrest, League Two Bradford released a statement which read: 'Bradford City Football Club has parted company with Tyrell Robinson.
'This comes after West Yorkshire Police confirmed charges had been brought against Robinson, following his arrest in August 2018.
'Robinson has been dismissed from the remainder of his contract. The club will be making no further comment on the matter.'
