Two people are dead Monday following a shooting at a UPS facility in Chicago, according to police.
Police responded to reports of shots fired in the employee parking lot of the sorting facility located at 1 UPS Way, in Hodgkins, at around 12:51pm local time.
When officers arrived, they found two people laying not the ground unresponsive and immediately secured the scene, a spokesperson for Hodgkins Police Department told DailyMail.com.
Paramedics then examined the victims and immediately pronounced them dead. They had both suffered fatal gunshot wounds.
Officials said a firearm was recovered from the scene.

It's unclear if either of the two victims were employees of UPS, with an investigation on-going
The victims have not yet been identified by police, and it’s unknown at this time if they were employees at the UPS facility.
Police said they do not believe a gunman is on the loose and there is no immediate wider concern for public safety.
'We do not anticipate any further danger to the public at this time,' Rodney Cummings, administrative assistant to Chief Ernest Millsap, told DailyMail.com.
An investigation remains on going. Hodgkins PD said they will be releasing more information as it comes available.

The doors of the car are open, and a blue tarp appears to be covering an object - possibly a body - near the trunk of the car.

The sorting facility employs around 11,000 people and is located 17 southwest of Chicago near I-55 and I-294.
In a statement to DailyMail.com, UPS spokesperson Matthew O'Connor said: 'We are deeply saddened by the incident that occurred this afternoon, and we are cooperating with the responding authorities.
'We will not comment further during an ongoing investigation. Any further questions should be directed to the local authorities.'
