Terrifying moment a McDonald's customer is carjacked at GUNPOINT while ordering food in the drive-thru when a man in ski goggles storms his Hyundai Getz in daylight

A man ordering McDonald's takeaway was threatened by a masked attacker wielding a huge handgun in terrifying CCTV released by police. 

The 32-year-old victim was forced out of his red Hyundai Getz by the armed man at the drive-through section of the Eagle Vale fast food franchise, in Sydney's south-west.

The brazen attack happened just days out from Christmas on December 20, 2020, at about 1.30am.

CCTV shows the man dressed in camouflaged cargo pants, a long top and a backwards cap walk with purpose along a quiet street. 

He then approaches the man sitting in the driver's seat of the red car, who appears to be ordering his McDonald's meal over the speaker system. 

The attacker covered his face with a mask and ski googles and displayed his weapon through the window, where he begin to make threats to the driver.

The victim took his mobile phone and got out of the car as his attacker continued to point the gun at his head.

The carjacker then reversed the Hyundai out of the drive-through section and fled the scene towards Dolomite Place.

Police were contacted after the victim alerted McDonald's staff of the incident. He was not injured during the ordeal.

Officers arrived at the scene and begun their investigations.

The stolen Hyundai Getz was then found at Eagle Farm Reserve at about 2.50am. 

Police released the terrifying CCTV to find the man they believe can assist with inquiries.

The man is white and of a slim build. 

Anyone with information is urged to contact police.
