'Burn the house down': Australia's deadliest snake is discovered lurking outside a horrified family's sliding door – and he's not a little one
A Queensland family discovered the enormous Eastern brown snake (pictured, above) outside their Reesville home.
The Eastern brown snake is known for being bad-tempered, aggressive and fast moving.
Easter browns prefer to live in populated areas and are most commonly discovered by Aussie's in their sheds or houses during Spring and Summer months.
The poisonous snake was enjoying the sun when it was found coiled in between the sliding doors leading into the family home (pictured, above)
The increased rainfall during Australia's wet summer, created by a La Nina weather event, has created the perfect environment for Aussie snakes, providing dense grasslands for the active serpents.
The venom of the Eastern brown snake is the second most toxic of land snakes worldwide and can cause paralysis if not treated in time.
More than 3,000 Australians are bitten by snakes each year, with up to 100 venomous species Australia-wide.
While one online commentator praised the reptile, calling the snake 'a beautiful beast' other commenters were less impressed, saying they would 'burn the house down'.
