Horror as woman found ‘burned to death’ near petrol can in Moston woods by Greater Manchester Police following desperate 999 calls from families who had spotted her on fire
The body of a woman has been discovered in a woodland area after horrified locals reported a person on fire nearby.
A green petrol can was pictured being hauled away by police in Moston, Manchester, this evening.
Police first arrived at the scene at 6.15pm following reports of a fire when her body was found.
It came shortly after locals called 999 to report a person set alight in the area.
The woman's official cause of death - as well as her age, identity and what caused the fire - has not been confirmed by police, Manchester Evening News reports.

A fire engine was present at the scene this evening - along with at least two police cars.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: 'Police were called around 6.15pm this evening (Saturday 14 November 2020) by the fire service to a report of a fire in a woodland near Williams Road, Moston.
'Emergency services attended and sadly found the body of a woman.
'A scene is in place and an investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.'
