Couple accused of kidnapping a disabled woman, 20, from a car before robbing, beating and filming her in the shower - as they 'brag of the crimes on social media'
A young woman has allegedly been brutally attacked after being dragged from a car while stopped at an intersection by a couple.
The woman, 20, who has an intellectual disability, was travelling on the Pacific Highway at Charlestown, near Lake Macquarie, at 11pm on Wednesday when a Hyundai Elantra sedan pulled up beside her car, police say.
She was allegedly pulled from the passenger seat by two people, a man and woman, who were known to her.
They allegedly dragged her into the sedan before driving off.

The pair allegedly assaulted her and stole her credit cards before stopping on George Booth Drive at West Wallsend where the woman allegedly assaulted her in the street.
The 20-year-old was then taken to a home in Windale where her attackers allegedly filmed themselves assaulting her in a shower.
An investigation was launched after footage of the alleged assault appeared on social media.
Police and paramedics rushed to the Windale home where they found the injured 20-year-old. She was taken to hospital in a stable condition.

A 37-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman were arrested at the property and taken to Belmont Police Station.
The man was charged with nine offences, including robbery, detaining a person, assault, breaching an AVO, stalking and intimidation and filming a person (in a private act) without consent.
The woman was charged with seven offences including robbery, assault and filming a person without consent.
Both were refused bail and will appear before Belmont Local Court on Friday.
