Nicole Kidman reveals bald patch and thinning hair as she arrives in LA,,,

It appears that Nicole Kidman's hair is beginning to bare the brunt of years of straightening and bleaching.

The 44-year-old actress was sporting what appeared to be a bald patch on the side of her head as she arrived into Los Angeles Airport last night.

The Moulin Rouge star's locks also looked somewhat thin and dried out - perhaps the result of prolonged hair dye use and highlighting.

Trichologists have also warned how hair thinning and loss can be caused by hair extension which have become something of a celebrity staple.

The traction caused by wearing the hair pieces over long periods of time weakens the hair  - which then isn't helped by chemical and heat treatments, including permanent and semi-permanent hair straightening.

Of course when redhead Nicole Kidman broke onto the celebrity scene back in the Eighties, she had a full head of dense curls which set her apart from the Hollywood clones.

Nicole was pictured arriving back in Los Angeles after making a visit to France for Paris Fashion Week.

The mother-of-two was pictured rocking a pair of leather trousers as she jetted out of the City of Lights.

Nicole teamed the daring trousers with a black blazer and scarf, gold sunglasses and piled her red hair up into a haphazard, messy 'do with a clip.

The Rabbit Hole star carried a contrasting ream bag as she walked through the airport with an assistant as she prepared to board her flight.

It was a very brief trip, with Nicole only staying one night in Paris.

The evening before, she attended a party to celebrate Tod's new signature collection.

The actress looked chic in an Erdem Pre-Fall 2012 Ivy Dress and pointed stilettos.

The Italian luxury brand’s chief Diego Della Valle had invited Kidman to be the guest of honour at the lavish bash at the Italian Embassy.

Before the party, she popped into the Laperouse restaurant for dinner, revealing that she harbours a love of French baguettes.

She said at the Tod's party: 'It's gorgeous to be in Paris.

'I just love bread, which I know in this day and age everyone says, "Don’t eat the bread."'
