Talk about a time warp! Jeremy Renner and Amy Adams step out in retro

David O. Russell's new film is set in late 1970s and early 1980s, so the stars of the motion picture are having to embrace the trends of that particular era.
And on Wednesday in Boston, Amy Adams and Jeremy Renner become the latest members of the cast to show off their retro ensembles and big hair.
Dressed to the nines, Renner, 42, and Adams, 38, appeared to be shooting a scene for a party.

Worlds apart from her usual slick showing, Amy displayed her old school hair with large curls while wearing a big navy coat over a glitzy dress on set.
Keeping her head down, the mother-of-one seemed to be in deep thought, perhaps going over her lines, as she strutted along in a pair of wedged heels.
Similarly Renner looked completely different to his usual style with his own bouffant hair and a grey tuxedo which featured a large black bow tie.
Joined by a female co-star, it was hard to tell whether Jeremy was wearing a wig or if his natural hair had undergone an intense blow-dry.

During the late night shoot, actor Christian Bale was joined by his wife Sandra Blažić and his daughter Emmeline.
In good spirits, the family were seen laughing and smiling as Bale clutched the hands of his leading ladies as they made their way to their next location.
Dressed in costume, the 39-year-old was near unrecognisable as he sported a comb-over with a pair of reading glasses and a three piece suit.

Also on set, earlier in the day Bradley Cooper finally debuted his permed look for the first time.
The Hangover star was spotted walking around the Boston set on Wednesday evening with his bouffant 'do' on full show.
Despite the dreadful do, Cooper seemed to feel comfortable with his image overhaul as he confidently sauntered around.

Bradley, 38, completed his dated look for the film with aviator shades on and a classic grey suit with a medallion hanging from his neck.
Cooper sported some heavy facial hair while he completed his look with some smart brown shoes.
But come the end of the day when they wrapped filming, the actor was seen ducking his head down as he climbed into a car ready to get some rest before his next day.

While Bradley showed off his transformation and had ditched his pink rollers for the day, his co-star Jennifer Lawrence, who he was previously rumoured to be dating, was the one walking around with big rollers on her head.
The Hunger Games actress was also in costume, but kept warm with a large floor length fur coat over her white dress.
She pulled the hood of her coat over her head to try and disguise the large rollers on her bright blonde locks.

Cooper was first spotted with his strange headgear on the set of his untitled David O. Russell film about the Abscam scandal in Boston, Massachusetts a fortnight ago.

 

The 38-year-old was also showing off his enticing chest, but thing of wonder though that is... it's just so hard to get past the curlers. 
The Abscam scandal was a sting operation run from the FBI’s Hauppauge, Long Island office in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

 

The operation initially targeted trafficking in stolen property but was converted to a public corruption investigation.

The investigation ultimately led to the conviction of a United States Senator, five members of the House of Representatives, one member of the New Jersey State Senate, members of the Philadelphia City Council, and an inspector for the Immigration and Naturalization Service.
Bradley is working with Silver Linings Playbook director David O. Russell, as well as Jennifer Lawrence who has a starring role. Christian Bale also stars.
It is slated for wide release on Christmas Day, following a December 13 limited release.
