AFL star Sydney Stack, 20, who was booted from the league's covid hub for fighting outside a Gold Coast strip club is denied bail back home after 'skipping quarantine to go clubbing'

Sydney Stack has been charged with skipping home quarantine in Western Australia after allegedly being spotted out at 1am in Perth's nightclub district.

The Richmond Tigers star, 20, is behind bars and has been refused bail after he was charged with failing to comply with a direction on Saturday morning.

Just three months ago, he was kicked out of the AFL's Queensland coronavirus hub and carted back home for alleged quarantine breaches.

Stack was granted approval to enter Western Australia on compassionate grounds via the G2G Pass system.

Sydney Stack was allegedly spotted out late night in Perth despite being in 14 day home isolation

He arrived at Perth Airport on Thursday from South Australia, and was ordered to self-quarantine for 14 days at a nominated address in Northam.

Police will allege Stack breached his self-quarantine direction by visiting Northbridge, where he was allegedly found by officers at 1am on Saturday.

'It was also identified he had been staying at a residence in Belmont,' WA Police said in a statement.

The Melbourne football player faced Perth's Magistrate Court on Sunday where he admitted the incident has placed his career in jeopardy.

'My AFL career is on the line with Richmond,' he told the Magistrate, appearing via audio from quarantine in the Northbridge watch house, the Western Australian reports.

'I came into Perth to get a COVID test done.'

The court heard police discovered the alleged breach while checking Stack's details against his license after they gave him a move along notice for disorderly conduct.

The sportsman said he had stayed in Northam after the death of his grandfather for a few days but moved to Belmont after arguing with family members.

Slack travelled from Melbourne to South Australia and did not leave the airport before venturing on to Perth and police had not conducted quarantine checks on him since his arrival, the court heard.

Police prosecutors argued against bail and it was formally refused by the Magistrate.

The team told the Western Australian it did not wish to comment any further and his manager Paul Peos said he would not make any comment at this stage.

In September, Stack and fellow teammate Callum Coleman-Jones, 21, were suspended for ten games after they allegedly broke COVID-19 rules to visit a Gold Coast strip club.

Footage captured the pair allegedly fighting in the street after being evicted from Hollywood Showgirls.

The AFL said the pair breached the code's return to play protocols by taking an Uber, visiting a non-approved Gold Coast venue and becoming involved in an altercation which required police intervention.

Queensland Police said the two men were issued with an infringement notice for public nuisance, fined $800 each and both sustained facial injuries during a brawl.

Following an investigation by the AFL and the Richmond Tigers, Stack and Coleman-Jones were immediately sent home from the Sunshine State.

The suspension was put in place for the remainder of the 2020 season, finals and the beginning of the 2021 season.

Richmond Football Club was fined $100,000 - $75,000 for the breach and a further $25,000 that was the suspended amount from a previous breach.

At the time, AFL General Counsel Andrew Dillon said all players who breach return to play protocol's will be held accountable.

'It is a privilege to be able to continue our competition, and with that privilege comes responsibility,' he said.

'The actions of the players are not only irresponsible but disrespectful to the competition and everyone associated with it.

'The two players knew the rules and chose to ignore them, putting the safety of everyone at risk.'
