Neighbours claimed the man went on a rampage in his rented house from about 7.30am, which led to police being called.
'He was pretty erratic; he was smashing glass, he lit a fire underneath the house,' one told the Courier Mail.
'We were too scared to go outside so a neighbour rang the police. The next thing we were ducking for cover because we thought it was him shooting.
'He yelled at one man who was working in his back garden, he said 'what the eff are you looking at' so the fella went back inside his house, nobody wanted to take him on.'
