Prince Harry and Meghan Markle purchased a stunning, multimillion-dollar estate in Montecito, California — with nine bedrooms and 16 bathrooms, Page Six can reveal.
Sussex's Duke and Duchess paid $14,650,000 for the 18,000-square-foot home featuring rose gardens, centuries-old olive trees, a tennis court, a tea house, children's cottage and a pool.
It also comes complete with a guest house with two tents, ideal for Doria, Markle's mum.
After the couple took legal action at their LA rental home against photographers for violating their privacy, there's no way anyone will get into their new gated and safe house.
As we've announced, they intend to make this the perfect home for their 1-year-old son, Archie, and any future kids.
A source denied Prince Charles, as rumored, had borrowed the cash from the Sussexes for their home.
The source stressed: "Finally, Meghan and Harry feel like they're on their own, and that feels great. Without help from his family, they bought this house, they are not using it on loan from a friend like they had before. It's really theirs and they can't wait to turn it into a home.
After spending the lockdown in Tyler Perry's $17 million Beverly Hills mansion, they moved to Santa Barbara last month.
A source told us: "Completely blown away by the kindness of Tyler, Meghan and Harry.
"They 're so happy to really start their lives together in California but they're never going to forget the kindness he showed them."
Their new, upscale community in California is also home to friends Oprah Winfrey and Ellen DeGeneres.
Despite much speculation that the pair would buy a house in Los Angeles, another source said this week: "Since early July, Harry and Meghan have been living comfortably in their own home in Santa Barbara.
"They aren't Oprah's house guests or someone else, they themselves purchased this home. This is where they want to carry on their lives after they leave the UK.
"This is the first home owned by any of them. As a couple and as a family it's been a very special time for them — to have full privacy for six weeks since they moved in, "the source added.
"They 're hoping to lay down their roots in this house and the peaceful neighborhood, which has considerable privacy. This is where they want Archie to be brought up, where they hope he will have a life as normal as possible.'
"Harry and Meghan had never wanted to make Los Angeles their home," the source said. It was a safe spot for them to be next to Meghan 's mom [who lives in LA] upon arrival in the U.S ..
