Coronavirus testing site in Melbourne is set on fire as a security guard suffers injuries during the blaze

A coronavirus testing site has been set alight and injured one of the security guards.

The testing tent in Mernda, north Melbourne, was closed when it was set on fire on Monday night.

Two security guards were on duty at the time and contacted emergency services.

Firefighters put out the blaze, which caused minor damage to one side of the tent.

Paramedics also checked one of the security guards for minor smoke inhalation.

Victoria Police are investigating the incident and are seeking to speak to three men aged in their twenties.

The men were spoken to by the security guards shortly before the fire started.
