Natalie Maines divorce from the Dixie Chicks has been exaggerated. According to an interview the singer did with The Hollywood Reporter on May 8, she is not finished with the band that made her famous, despite her new solo album about to hit.
"I am open to playing live shows," Maines said. "I remember Glenn Frey told me once that he wished the Eagles had never officially broken up. He looks back at that as kind of a silly thing to do… I don’t see any purpose in that. To me, we’re the Dixie Chicks. We’ll always be the Dixie Chicks."
As for the old Natalie Maines divorce rumors from her actor husband Adrian Pasdar, those were false as well. She mentioned Pasdar in the interview, talking about his job as an actor taking him all over the world, and how they are working hard on raising their kids. That is where the influence came for her new album "Mother."
She said that the title, named after a song on the album, was about how she loves the sacrifices she makes as a mother, even when it takes her away from the world of music that made her famous. She mentioned that she put a lot of herself into that song and made it as personal as she could.
She also said that she has no idea what the future will hold, whether it is a solo career as Natalie Maines, or maybe more Dixie Chicks music, but she said that it would be silly to even predict the future.
With the Natalie Maines divorce rumors, both from the Dixie Chicks and her own husband, shot down, it is time to get back to the music once again.
