Gladys Berejikilian was warned about loose rules for taxis transporting flight crew FOUR MONTHS ago but did nothing - as cops vow to punish limo driver who refused to get vaccinated and sparked Sydney outbreak

The New South Wales government was reportedly warned about the dangers of taxi drivers transporting flight crew from Sydney Airport four months ago but did not tighten health regulations.  According to The Australian, Transport for NSW raised concerns with the state Department of Health in February that taxi drivers could catch Covid-19 and quickly spread it around the city. Under a state public health order, international arrivals are not allowed to take ride share vehicles, public transport or taxis - but the order does not apply to flight crew.  This is the limo driver who caught the virus from international air crew and spread it around Sydney without realising A New South Wales Transport Workers Union official raised the issue with NSW Health but was told 'the airlines are in charge', a source told The Australian. The rules state that airlines must organise 'appropriate transportation' to take foreign crew to government quarantine and crew who live locally to their

Moment devoted son touches down on the Gold Coast after finally being allowed to say goodbye to his dying dad when Annastacia Palaszczuk reversed her heartless visit ban

A man has finally touched down on the Gold Coast after being granted an exemption by Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk to travel into the state and say goodbye to his dying father. Ms Palaszczuk sparked national outrage for barring Mark Kilian and his wife Anneli Gericke from saying their final goodbyes to 80-year-old Frans, who weighs just 44kg and is dying of pancreatic cancer in a hospital on the Gold Coast. The couple flew from Los Angeles to Sydney on June 15 after the federal government and NSW Health granted them a travel exemption, but when they tried to fly to the Sunshine State on a $15,000 private charter plane, they were refused a quarantine exemption by Queensland Health officials. Queensland Health rejected the couple's quarantine exemption application four times even though they are both fully vaccinated, have tested negative to Covid three times and even offered to wear hazmat suits and tracking devices during their visit. But late on Wednesday Ms Palaszczuk

Laurence Fox defies local Labour council's ban to speak out in defence of teacher caught in Prophet Muhammad row ahead of Batley and Spen by-election

Laurence Fox has defied a local Labour council's ban to speak out in defence of a teacher caught in the Prophet Muhammad row ahead of the Batley and Spen by-election on July 1. The Reclaim Party leader, 43, said education policy cannot be 'dictated by intimidation, bullying and death threats' while addressing a rally outside Batley Town Hall in Kirklees, West Yorkshire, yesterday. Kirklees Council earlier told Mr Fox the free-speech event could not take place due to public safety issues and potential disruption, adding that organisers had not attempted to secure permission to use the area.  The actor's comments follow a teacher who was suspended after showing a cartoon of the Prophet Muhammad to pupils during an RE lesson refusing to return to work over fears for his life - despite being cleared of causing deliberate offence and told that he could have his job back. FBI applied for warrant to dig up fabled $400 million cache of buried gold out of fear Pennsylvania officials would take gold for themselves, claims they came up empty

The FBI got caught up in the search for a fabled cache of stolen gold bars buried in Pennsylvania worth an estimated $400 million but came up empty handed.  Newly unsealed court documents reveal that a FBI agent applied for a federal warrant in 2018 to seize U.S. government gold he said was 'stolen during the Civil War' and hidden in an Elk County cave. The agent applied for the warrant out of fear the state might take the gold for itself if the feds asked for permission, confirming previous reporting from the Associated Press that the government had been looking for a legendary cache of gold at the site, which federal authorities had long refused to confirm.  An FBI tent is seen behind police tape at the base of a hill where investigators conducted an excavation for Civil War-era gold in 2018. The FBI says the dig came up empty FBI Agent Jacob Archer said he believed a significant cache of gold is secreted in the underground cave' in Dent´s Run, holding 'one or more to

New York fugitive stole $1.2 million yacht from Lake Champlain, sailed towards Vermont - then claimed he'd spent two days 'water-testing' it after being tracked down by US Border Patrol helicopter

A fugitive stole a $1.2 million yacht from upstate New York, sailed it across Lake Champlain for two days, then claimed he was 'water-testing' the vessel after being tracked down by a Border Patrol helicopter.  Robert Morris, 56, of Jericho, nabbed the luxury boat, a Jeanneau Prestige 500 dubbed 'Volans,' from Rouses Point Marina on Monday morning, it is claimed.  He then spent the next 36 hours sailing the pilfered vessel on Lake Champlain, until he was arrested on Tuesday afternoon. Afterwards, Morris claimed he had permission to take it after being spotted near St Albans in Vermont by Border Patrol agents hunting for the missing yacht, WCAX reported.     Morris was apprehended with the help of the St Alban's Police Department, who brought the fugitive ashore. The alleged thief is then said to have claimed he was sailing the boat back to its owner Ron McCarthy in Montreal, Canada. McCathy denied giving Morris permission to do so - and police asked Morris why he ha

'How can the government sleep at night?' Travellers tell of 'prison like' conditions at £1,750 quarantine hotel as they share images of 'inedible' food served in polystyrene boxes

Have you had a bad experience in a quarantine hotel? Email Jacob.Thorburn@mailonline.co.uk  Travellers have shared images of the ‘inedible’ food being served at a £1,750 quarantine hotel in central London and told how they are being held in ‘prison-like’ conditions and deprived of exercise.  President Hotel, in Guilford Road, London, is described on its own website as the 'perfect base' that allows guests to enjoy 'all that London has to offer'. But for some travellers who are spending their 10-day quarantine period there after arriving from 'red list' countries, it has been a 'nightmare' as they complain of the 'prison-like' conditions that are being enforced. Several say they have had enough after forking out £1,750 for the privilege of living in isolation.   And they have also shared images of the measly portions on offer that arrive in polystyrene boxes three times per day. Garikayi Madzudzo made an official complaint regarding the quality of
