'Climate day means jobs day': Biden sells his green vision as an economic boost as he signs orders to ban drilling on all federal land, abolish fossil fuel subsidies and make America a zero emissions country by 2050

President Joe Biden tied his climate initiatives to job growth on Wednesday, touting the economic growth behind his measures to increase conservation as the oil and gas industry complained about lost employment. 'Today is climate day at the White House, which means today is jobs day at the White House,' Biden said in the State Dining Room before he signed his latest round of executive orders. 'It's a future of enormous hope and opportunity.' His plan includes a number of policy changes including  ending drilling on federal land, doubling wind energy, and eliminate fossil fuel subsidies - all after he canceled the controversial billion-dollar Keystone XL pipeline. Social justice initiatives also play a large role in his climate proposal, which he called a national security issue. 'When I think of climate change, when I think of the answers to it - I think of jobs,' the president said, promising a 'whole of government' approach to environmental problem

A teen suspect accused of shooting dead six people at his family's home in Indianapolis filmed music videos of himself rapping about guns and killing people. The 17-year-old suspect, who has not been named due to his age, was arrested Monday after he allegedly went on a shooting spree early Sunday morning - killing his mother Kezzie Childs, 42, father Raymond Childs, 42, 18-year-old brother Elijah and 13-year-old sister Rita. Elijah's girlfriend Kiara Hawkins, 19, was also killed, along with her unborn baby boy.   He was identified as the gunman by his younger brother Xavier Childs, who suffered gunshot wounds as he fled from the home, according to a police report. Xavier, 15, remains hospitalized but is expected to recover.  A local pastor reacted to the tragedy on Tuesday, revealing his fears that violent lyrics in the suspect's music may have inspired the killing spree.  Pastor Kenneth Sullivan Jr spoke to WTHR and highlighted a portion of a music video in which a teen h

Is UK's Covid vaccine drive stalling? Britain managed 313,000 jabs on Tuesday marking three days in a row off the 400,000-a-day target needed to reach 15million people by February 15

The UK gave out 312,770 Covid-19 vaccines on Tuesday, official figures show, which marks the third consecutive day that it has missed the 400,000-a-day target needed to reach 15 million people by mid-February.    The Department of Health figures showed that 312,770 vaccines were administered across the UK on January 26 - of which 311,060 were given to people receiving their first dose.  Figures published today by NHS England revealed of the 260,307 jabs administered across the country yesterday, 259,306 were given to people receiving their first dose. A further 24,698 were given out in Scotland. The UK needs to be vaccinating at least 400,000 people every day for the next three weeks to fulfil Number 10's promise of immunising all 15million of the most vulnerable Brits by February 15. For each day that passes without the target being hit it becomes slightly higher. And Prime Minister Boris Johnson today announced that the national lockdown will last until at least March 8, or until
