I still believe: Macy's Thanksgiving parade will include pre-taped Broadway performances, balloons will only float down one block and streets will be closed (but Santa and Rockettes WILL be there)

New York City's beloved annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade will look a little different this year where the helium balloons will float down just one city block without an audience and four Broadway musicals will perform pre-recorded numbers for the televised event.   Due to the coronavirus pandemic the parade, which usually draws 3.5million attendees along its traditional 2.5-mile route in Manhattan, will be converted into a television-only event that will be aired on NBC and Telemundo.  The 94th annual parade special will include Broadway performances by the casts of Hamilton, Mean Girls, Jagged Little Pill, Ain't Too Proud: The Life and the Times of the Temptations - all of which haven't hit the stage since March.  The event will see Broadway actors and dancers dust off their costumes and return to the stage for the first time in months and the numbers will be filmed within the next few weeks.  The show will also include celebrity appearances, performances by the R

Fury at 'nanny state' ban on junk food adverts that No 10 wants to introduce just two months after promoting fast food bonanza with Eat Out to Help Out

Tory MPs have blasted the Government's 'nanny state' plan to ban online junk food adverts as they argued 'people should assume responsibility for their own health'.  Conservative backbenchers said the proposals were 'incoherent' because they come just a matter of weeks after ministers were encouraging people to eat fast food through the Eat Out to Help Out scheme.  Meanwhile, critics of the policy said it had been 'designed by fanatics' and it will have 'no impact on obesity' as they called for a U-turn. The proposed online advertising ban would apply to food which is high in fat, sugar and salt. The Department of Health and Social Care has launched a six week consultation on the plan to understand the potential impact of the measures.  But there is a growing backlash because foods such as avocados, Marmite, mustard and hummus could all be affected, as well as meals like fish and chips, and curry.  Boris Johnson is under pressure to drop plan

Deaf community is split over new colloquial ASL for Joe Biden because it resembles the CRIPS sign - and both the Democrats and the gang use the color blue

Members of the deaf community in the United States are sounding off on the recently adopted colloquial American Sign Language used for President-elect Joe Biden, worried that it too closely resembles the Crip gang sign.  A variety of hands signs have circulated to represent Biden, with the one in question meant to look as if the president elect was sporting his signature Ray Bans. But Nakia Smith, a prominent TikTok influencer known for her videos about ASL, quickly pointed out that the sign looked all too similar to that of the Crips of the West Coast. 'We BIPOC feel completely disagree with that because of where we come from' she said in a she posted across platforms on Monday. 'We should've worked together and agree on the same thing than move forward when others disagree with that sign name for Biden.'   Nakia Smith, a prominent TikTok influencer known for her videos about ASL, quickly pointed out that the Biden sign looked all too similar to that of the Cri

REVEALED: Billionaire Bill Gross - who once doused his ex-wife's home in fart spray - threatened to 'keep playing Gilligan's Island theme tune on loop to torment neighbor unless they dropped complaint about $1m sculpture'

Billionaire Bill Gross reportedly threatened that he would continue to blare out the theme song to Gilligan's Island at all hours unless his neighbor withdrew a complaint about a $1 million sculpture in his backyard, a court heard Monday.  Gross, who is known as the ‘Bond King’, and his entrepreneur neighbor Mark Towfiq, have been involved in a months-long legal dispute that began when the billionaire installed a 22-foot-long glass sculpture in the backyard of his Laguna Beach mansion. Towfiq said he didn’t take issue with the sculpture until Gross, 71, began to install netting around it to protect it from 'vandalism' in July, a protective device he has described as ‘unsightly’. Gross allegedly responded Towfiq’s protests by playing loud music, including the theme to Gilligan’s Island, at all hours of the day in order to get Towfiq to drop his complaint. The two men later sued one another for harassment. In the opening day of the hearing for the dueling complaints in Orange
