Suspect, 23, is on the run from police after opening fire at a Kansas nightclub killing a 34-year-old father and injuring five others, after he was kicked out the club for fighting

Police are seeking a 23-year-old man who allegedly shot and killed a father of two, and injured five others at a Kansas nightclub that he had been kicked out of early Tuesday. Wichita police identified the suspect in the shooting as Keshawn Dawson, who they said had been involved in a 'disturbance' that became 'physical' at the Enigma Club & Lounge in downtown Wichita, and was subsequently escorted out of the building. A short time later, at around 12.38am, police said Dawson allegedly returned with a semi-automatic handgun, and began shooting through the glass doors and windows at the front of the club, killing 34-year-old Preston Spencer of Wichita, and injuring five women.  After he opened fire, Dawson then left in dark-colored vehicle which was being driven by another individual, Wichita Police Capt. Jason Stephens said at a news conference Tuesday afternoon.  Police are still seeking his whereabouts, he said, and were investigating whether there was any relatio

Affirmative action for male students is new 'dirty little secret': US colleges 'worried' as men abandon courses in record numbers - but are afraid to speak out amid glare of gender politics

Affirmative action for male students has become the new 'dirty little secret' with US colleges 'worried' that men are abandoning courses in record numbers - but are afraid to speak out amid the glare of gender politics. Women now make up an increasing proportion of the student body across America, in part driven by a trove of recent initiatives aimed at improving gender equality. Data from National Student Clearinghouse reveals female students accounted for 59.5 percent of all college enrollments in spring 2021, compared to just 40.5 percent that were men.  The gap between the two sexes is widening, with male student enrollment declining more drastically than their female counterparts with 400,000 fewer male students enrolling in 2021 than 2020, versus 200,000 fewer female students between the two years.    Some admissions experts are voicing concerns about the long-term impact of this trend on the male population, as college graduates can expect to earn more than a mil

Cuba is world's first country to vaccinate TODDLERS: Children from age of two receive home-grown Covid-19 jabs not recognised by WHO

Cuba on Monday became the first country in the world to vaccinate children from the age of two against Covid-19, using home-grown jabs not recognized by the World Health Organization. The communist Caribbean island of 11.2 million people aims to inoculate all its children before reopening schools that have been closed for the most part since March 2020. The new school year started on Monday, but from home via television programs, as most Cuban homes do not have internet access. Having completed clinical trials on minors with its Abdala and Soberana vaccines, Cuba kicked off its inoculation campaign for children on Friday, starting with those 12 and older. Bishop Sycamore is NOT a high school: New coach claims it is a 'post-grad football academy' after it 'duped' its way into coveted ESPN-televised game that ended in bizarre 58-0 loss

The newly hired Bishop Sycamore football coach has admitted that the supposed online high school that garnered nationwide attention last week following a 58-0 blowout loss on ESPN is not a school at all, but rather, a 'post-grad football academy.' Coach Tyren Jackson did not shed any light on how the program managed to book a coveted game against the defending national champion IMG Academy on August 29 — a bizarre spectacle that raised concerns over player safety — but he did tell WCMH-TV in Columbus, Ohio that the 'misconception' over Bishop Sycamore was simply a 'mistake on paperwork.' 'We do not offer curriculum,' Jackson said. 'We are not a school. That's not what Bishop Sycamore is, and I think that's what the biggest misconception about us was, and that was our fault. Because that was a mistake on paperwork.'  It remains unclear how Bishop Sycamore booked the prestigious game at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, but event org

Mother vents her fury after her daughter is threatened with detention for her 'too short' skirt which is a size bigger than the one she wore last year

A mother has vented her fury after her daughter was given a detention warning for her skirt being too short. Tammy Humphreys' daughter arrived home from Ysgol Eifionydd in Porthmadog on Monday with a note from the school saying she would be sent to detention if she wore the same outfit again.  The black skirt was deemed too short as it was above the knee rather than being knee-length as the school's uniform policy states. A mother has vented her fury after her daughter was given a detention warning for her skirt being too short Tammy said she 'couldn't believe it' when her daughter told her she would be sent to detention if she wore the skirt again. She said it was the same type of skirt her daughter had worn the previous year, but a size up.  The Year 8 pupil is one of 18 students at the school who were given a detention warning over their uniform on the first day of the new school year on Monday. Smart motorway upgrade is on its way at last: Accident blackspots on notorious stretches of road are to be made safer, highways bosses announce

Safety improvements are to be made to notorious stretches of smart motorway, road chiefs said yesterday. 'Judges are not nurses or doctors': Ohio judge tosses colleague's decision to allow COVID patient, 51, to be treated with horse dewormer ivermectin

An Ohio judge ordered a hospital to stop treating a COVID-19 patient with horse deworming drug ivermectin, reversing a colleague's earlier decision to allow the treatment, because 'judges are not nurses or doctors'.  Jeffrey Smith, 51, has been in the West Chester Hospital's intensive care unit since mid-July battling COVID-19 and has been on a ventilator for more than 30 days.  After he was placed on a ventilator, his wife, Julie Smith, reached out to Dr. Fred Wagshul - who is listed as a founding physician of Front Line COVID-19 Critical Care Alliance and who promotes the horse deworming drug as treatment for the virus - for a prescription, according to The Washington Post. When the doctors refused, Julie Smith took the hospital to court, and after a months-long battle a different Ohio judge ordered that he be administered the treatment. That order lasted 21 days.  On Monday, Butler County Judge Michael A. Oster Jr. reversed the order and told the hospital to cease ad
