Shirtless Barack Obama is pictured on his paddle board in Hawaii days before Capitol violence - as he hits out at 'great dishonor and shame' of MAGA mob invasion

A shirtless Barack Obama has been paddle boarding over the calm Hawaiian waves thousands of miles away from the storm in Washington DC.  The 59-year-old former president, who accused Donald Trump of inciting yesterday's carnage which left four dead, was pictured in a pair of swimming trunks gliding across Kailua Bay on Monday. But Obama took to Twitter last night to condemn his White House successor for bringing 'dishonor and shame' to the seat of America's democracy as hundreds of Trump supporters broke into the Capitol Building. 'History will rightly remember today's violence at the Capitol, incited by a sitting president who has continued to baselessly lie about the outcome of a lawful election, as a moment of great dishonor and shame for our nation,' Obama wrote. Romanian prostitute who refused to give her PIN code to police after she was caught wearing £3,250 diamond earrings stolen in £25m raid on Tamara Ecclestone's mansion is freed from jail

A Romanian sex worker suspected of being involved in a £25million burglary at Tamara Ecclestone's mansion who refused to reveal her phone PIN code to police over fears it would identify her high-profile clients has been freed from jail. Maria Mester, 48, smoked a cigarette and stepped into a Rolls Royce waiting for her outside Isleworth Crown Court in West London. She had been cleared of involvement in the heist after insisting Ms Ecclestone's jewellery had been given to her as a gift for her escort services. But Mester admitted refusing to disclose the PIN to her phone when she was arrested after landing at Heathrow on 30 January last year.  Mester said she did not want to hand over the PIN number amid fears it would reveal the identity of her high-profile sex clients. Prosecutors had previously said in court that Mester's refusal to provide the PIN number was causing a delay to the trial. Human trafficker Maurice 'Mo' Robinson, 26, who was told by his boss to give 39 Vietnamese migrants trapped in a lorry trailer some air callously replied: 'I can't, they're f****** dead' The smugglers who killed 39 Vietnamese migrants bringing them into the UK in a sealed lorry hanged their heads as a court heard their dying victims' final pleas. Driver Maurice 'Mo' Robinson, 26, was part of a million-pound people-smuggling ring who brought desperate migrants into Britain in the back of death-trap lorries on multiple occasions - earning him £100,000.  But their reckless operation came crashing down in October 2019 when Robinson opened the back of his refrigerated trailer in an industrial park in Grays, Essex, to be met with a gush of steam - and 39 bodies.  Robinson called Ronan Hughes, 40 - the gang's ringleader - when he found the bodies of the 28 men, eight women and three children who suffocated as temperatures inside soared to 38.5C. Are we about to risk another disaster in care homes? Fury as NHS bosses are considering using their empty beds as overflow for busy hospitals as sector warns it would be a 'grave mistake'

Care homes say it would be a 'grave mistake' to use their empty beds as overflow for packed hospitals as the number of people being admitted with Covid-19 surges. The NHS is making plans to commandeer spare care beds across the country to help release pressure on hospitals as their wards fill up with coronavirus patients.  More than 30,000 people are currently in hospital with Covid across the UK and the number is expected to soar after more than 300,000 people tested positive in the last week of December.  But the Government is blocking the move to send patients to care homes because it doesn't want to pay and fears patients could spread Covid to the homes' extremely vulnerable residents, the Health Service Journal reports. The National Care Forum warned that care homes are facing their own 'phenomenal' pressures and cannot cope with NHS patients too. It argued calls to protect the NHS must not ignore the 'massive potential impact' on care homes. The ca
