Meet the first dogs-elect: Joe and Jill Biden will bring pets back to the White House as their German Shepherd Major becomes first ever rescue to call 1600 Pennsylvania Ave home

For the first time in four years, dogs will be returning to the White House when Joe Biden is sworn in as president in January 2021.  First dogs-elect, Champ and Major, will be reviving a tradition that goes back to George Washington - the first president to have a dog - when the two German Shepherds move into 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.   Champ has been with Jill and Joe Biden since Christmas 2008. President Barack Obama promised his daughters Malia and Sasha a puppy if he won the 2008 election, and Joe made the same promise to Jill. Champ, who was named by the Bidens' granddaughters, was purchased from a Pennsylvania breeder and lived at the vice presidential residence at the U.S. Naval Observatory during Joe's two terms as Vice President under Obama. Trump campaign staffers assigned to a hotline meant to find instances voter fraud have reportedly been swamped with prank calls.   Anonymous campaign staffers told ABC News that supporters of President-elect Joe Biden have called the hotline laughing or mocking them over the victory. The trend has already become popular on social media, where some people have shared their taunting phone calls.     'Gravity Falls' creator Alex Hirsch was among those who gave the voter fraud hotline a ring. In one call, Hirsch reported seeing a suspicious man who resembled McDonald's Hamburglar. 'I saw what I believe is a voter fraud situation,' Hirsch began. 'So I saw a man. He walked into this building and he was wearing a black hat, black mask, a stripped shirt, a red tie and I believe there were hamburgers in his bag.' An Australian soldier who was chosen to mentor the future King of Thailand has spoken of his time with the royal as a 'quiet' and 'reserved' young teenager - before he became a controversial ruler with a 'harem of sex soldiers'. King Maha Vajiralongkorn, 68, is known to his 70 million subjects for his outlandish style choices - previously bearing tiny crop tops and garish fake tattoos.  Vajiralongkorn is also one of the world's richest monarchs with assets worth an estimated $40billion. The king - who is on his fourth wife and has seven children - has in recent months been the target of pro-democracy protests campaigning against his palace fortune and personal control of entire army units. A bizarre report in May claimed the monarch had booked out a floor at an Alpine hotel in Germany, where he was accompanied by 20 concubines with military ranks.  But one of Vajiralongkorn's fellow cadets at Canberra's elite Royal Military College said the young man

REVEALED: The HSC subject with the most disputed exam results - with teachers complaining the marking can be too subjective

English Extension 2 is the most complained-about subject in the Higher School Certificate for unexpectedly wild results, new figures reveal. The highly regarded subject, offered in New South Wales, allows students to produce a major creative work such as a podcast, a film script, multimedia project, poetry or a short story. It has become controversial among some teachers who are concerned that marks in the subject are too subjective and unpredictable. New figures from the NSW Education Standards Authority show English Extension 2 is the subject most complained about by school principals logging requests to check that no processing error has been made in the calculation of the student's mark.  Students learn valuable skills in English Extension 2 but because they can choose from a wide range of creative major works, some teachers think the marking is too subjective Principals only rarely make an 'anomalous result inquiry' when a student's mark varies wildly from what w

A teenage Extinction Rebellion protester who is camped on top of a crane in Norwich says he is 'cold but in good health' 24 hours after climbing the structure. Alex Sidney, 17, from Dereham, in Norfolk, scaled the crane on Duke Street early on Saturday morning carrying a sleeping bag, supplies and several banners promoting the climate protest group. Giving an update after a night spent up the crane the teenage protestor said this morning: 'I'm still up here, a bit cold but still in good health for now. 'Last night was cold and the condensation from the fog in the early hours managed to soak me, so that contributed to it. 'I feel that it's still necessary to be up here with these banners up to ensure that the message continues to circulate and until the Government take action.' Alex Sidney has vowed to stay put on a gantry outside the crane's cab at 108 feet high, until he has 'mild hypothermia' He is camped on a gantry outside the crane
