Gladys and her dodgy lover: Read and listen to the extraordinary phone taps revealing the secret love affair between the premier and a disgraced MP that could see Australia's most popular politician resign

If the citizens of New South Wales thought they knew anything about Gladys Berejiklian it was that the premier was always prim, proper and intensely private. The unmarried 50-year-old appeared to have no personal life outside her work and family commitments, or went to great lengths to keep it well hidden.  That all changed on Monday morning when tapped phone calls between her and disgraced former MP Daryl Maguire - her secret lover - were played at a corruption inquiry.  It was extraordinary enough that the premier's private conversations with a dodgy colleague were recorded but the intimate nature of those chats belied her demure public image.   The calls feature colourful language including swear words and offensive phrases coming from Mr Maquire's mouth which seem not to offend Ms Berejikilian's ears. Notorious bikie shot dead in his BMW in execution-style killing on the Gold Coast was 'watching his back for months' after a narrow escape from another drive-by attack in July - as his TWO girlfriends pay tribute

Notorious bikie Shane Bowden was killed in an execution-style shooting on the Gold Coast in the early hours of Monday morning Murdered bikie Shane Bowden had been 'looking over his shoulder' for months before he was shot dead in an execution-style shooting on the Gold Coast. The 48-year-old was gunned down in a hail of bullets inside his BMW moments after pulling into the driveway of a home on Cox Road in Pimpama, about 12am on Monday. Bowden is believed to have been shot dead by members of the Mongols OMCG, the gang he was a senior member of until recently patching over to the Finks.  Trudi McPhee, Bowden's on-again-off-again girlfriend and mother to one of his two sons, told Daily Mail Australia that the heavily-tattooed bikie had been wary of a potential attack ever since he was shot in Melbourne on July 1. 'He believed people had been watching him ever since he got shot in Melbourne,' Ms McPhee said. 'He got shot and then he got COVID-19, and then he told me

Black man who was filmed being led through Texas street by two white cops on horseback while bound with a rope sues city for $1 million over 'offensive and outrageous' 2019 arrest

A black man who was led by mounted police down a Texas street while bound with a rope last year is suing the city and its police department for $1 million, court documents have revealed. Donald Neely, 44, who suffers from mental illness and was homeless at the time, was arrested on criminal trespassing charges in Galveston, just outside of Houston on August 3, 2019. Images and video from his arrest - showing two white police officers leading him down the street handcuffed with a rope tied to their horses - sparked public outrage at the time and drew comparisons to the slavery era. In a lawsuit filed in Galveston County last week by Neely’s attorney Julie Ketterman, she called the officers’ conduct ‘extreme and outrageous’. The Houston-based attorney also argued the two officers ‘knew or should have believed that Neely - being a Black man - being led with a rope and by mounted officers down a city street as though he was a slave, would find this contact offensive.’ Scroll down for video

Betsafe allowed Tom Eaton, 34, to continue betting thousands of pounds even after concerns were raised about his account. In fact, the £25,000-a-year finance manager was stealing from his employer, furniture company Dunelm, to fund his habit – and has pleaded guilty to taking £170,000 between 2015 and January 2019. He admitted forging an account book, submitting 20 bogus expenses claims and fraudulently obtaining three company credit cards.  He faces up to five years in jail when he is sentenced next month, and would leave his wife Sam, 29, to care for their two young children, aged one and four, by herself. The court heard he took the money to fund a ‘gambling addiction that had escalated out of control’.  On one occasion, E

Hard-up RAF is forced to strip old jets for spare parts to keep the rest of the fleet in the air

The RAF has been forced to strip parts from 17 fighter jets to keep the rest of the fleet operational. An official document released by the cash-strapped Ministry of Defence showed that British taxpayers paid £17.6 billion for 160 Typhoons. But new figures from this year show that the number of RAF Typhoons in service is only 139. The RAF has been forced to strip parts from 17 fighter jets to keep the rest of the fleet operational Four of the aircraft were never in the fleet, with three used for development flying, meaning 17 Typhoons are being used as spares to keep others flying in a project the RAF calls ‘reduce to produce’ in a bid to save money. The cost of the aircraft that have been cannibalised is £1.1 billion. An RAF sources said the planes that were stripped were at the ‘end of life’ or obsolete, adding: ‘Each aircraft releases millions of pounds worth of spares back into the supply chain. This represents excellent value for the taxpayer.’ The work is being carried out at RAF

A tragic heiress, her opulent mansion... and a VERY racy legacy: His taste is famously blingtastic so why, asks RICHARD KAY, is Donald Trump lobbying the Queen over a Grade II listed property in the heart of the capital?

The reek of the past still lingers within its walls and the influence of the woman who built it, a famously extravagant heiress, persists. But inside everything has changed. Take the vast drawing-room carpet, originally woven for Louis XIV. Once likened to 'stepping on $10,000 dollar bills', it has been replaced by a covering of warm, creamy pastels. And the desk where, in a rage, she swore out a warrant for the arrest of husband number two - she married and divorced seven times - after he had threatened to shoot her lover, has long gone. The bedroom where she pursued various amorous adventures also enjoys a much less active existence. While Winfield House has seen countless stylish gatherings, its renown springs from its first owner, Woolworths heiress Barbara Hutton But in one aspect, Winfield House in Regent's Park remains unchanged, and that is in its grip on history. For 65 years it has been the official residence of the U.S. ambassador to Britain - at the epicentre of
