A shock new report has 'significant concerns for community safety' on the Gold Coast with future bushfire seasons set to be even worse than the last.  The new fire officer's report comes as the state-funded Queensland Fire and Emergency Services refused to extend its contract with the Gold Coast City Council, which is set to expire in  June 2022.  The Gold Coast City Council now has to find a new contractor capable of providing the same level of professional service as the QFES, which could take years.  This will leave the Queensland Rural Fire Service, which is the QFES volunteer branch, alone in battling bushfires in just over a year if no replacement is found.  Gold Coast councillor Peter Young took pictures of his fellow volunteer firefighters battling a blaze in Springbrook in August. KFC Customers have been told to self-isolate after visiting a Sydney restaurant that had an infected diner as NSW records six new coronavirus cases. Anyone who visited the KFC on Bunting St in Emerton on September 7 between 12.00pm to 9:30pm are being warned to get tested if any symptoms appear. Close contacts have been told to self-isolate for two weeks even if they return a negative result.   Of the new infections recorded on Saturday, one is in hotel quarantine and the other five are from a known cluster. Premier Daniel Andrews has announced regional Victoria is on track to ease coronavirus restrictions in a matter of days as cases across the state continue to plummet.  Victoria marked its ninth day in a row of double digit figures on Saturday with just  37 new  coronavirus  cases - its lowest daily increase since June 26.   The promising decline in cases comes after Victoria saw 43 new cases on Friday, 51 on Thursday and 76 on Wednesday.  The state also reported six additional fatalities, taking the state death toll to 716 and the national figure to 803.  Mr Andrews said there are only 58 active coronavirus infections in regional Victoria and no new cases since Friday's update.
