This Skoda's the best Yeti: Model beats off Mercedes and Jaguar

Forget the likes of Mercedes, BMW or Jaguar. Britain’s favourite car is a Skoda. The Skoda Yeti came top in a national satisfaction survey, with two other Skoda models also making the top ten. The flagship Skoda Superb was second and the Skoda Octavia sixth – not at all bad for a car which was once known for the comedy it produced, not its quality. Bill Gates 'disrespects' South Korea's female president by shaking hands while keeping other in his pocket

Bill Gates has found himself at the centre of a cultural row after he was accused of disrespecting the South Korean president by his 'rude' handshake yesterday. The Microsoft founder has been heavily criticised by the country's media because he shook President Park Geun-hye hand, while keeping his left in his trouser pocket. A website that charges for ‘tips’ on how to milk the benefits system has boosted the number of Britons claiming Disability Living Allowance. Those using the Benefits and Work site pay a £19 fee – with a ‘money back’ guarantee if advice does not work. A Samurai sword-wielding Mormon bishop helped a female neighbor in Salt Lake City, Utah escape a Tuesday morning attack by a man who had been stalking her. Kent Hendrix woke up Tuesday to his teenage son pounding on his bedroom door and telling him somebody was being mugged in front of their house. Women’s unemployment is rising to a 25-year high but the number of jobless men is falling, according to a new survey. The Fawcett Society has warned the situation is leading to a 'female unfriendly' labour market and claims the Government’s plans for growth were leaving women behind. It said that almost two out of three new private sector jobs are going to men. Tweet of the Day... but it's more relaxing than Twitter

To a younger audience, the title may seem somewhat misleading. But BBC Radio 4’s new programme, Tweet of the Day, will not have anything to do with social networking site Twitter, it will be a daily broadcast of birdsong. Veteran wildlife expert David Attenborough is among a number of presenters who will host the series which will feature a 90-second recording of a different bird each day. Beginning on May 6th, it will run for 265 episodes, with each one being accompanied by a short narration related to the different species, including the Cuckoo, Nightingale, Tawny Owl and Storm Petrel. The series, which is being made by the BBC’s Natural History Unit, will be broadcast every weekday morning at 05.58am, just before the flagship current affairs show, the Today programme. One of the episodes will be repeated on Sunday mornings at 08.58am. Australian police arrest 24-year-old 'leader' of hacking group

The alleged leader of the hacking group LulzSec, the collective which claimed responsibility for infiltrating the the CIA website, is being held by Australian police. The 24-year-old computer expert, who held a position of trust in the IT department of an international company, was arrested at work in Sydney last night. He has been charged with hacking offences that carry a maximum penalty of 10 years.
