Sergio Parisse is Italy’s most influential player and would walk into any team in the world at No 8. He’s got good hands, a brilliant offload and is a dynamic ball carrier. But his biggest strength is his decision-making. Like all good leaders, it’s not what they say, but what they do on the field. He has been Italy’s most consistent player, yet there is no arrogance.
The CavemanI loved playing alongside prop Martin Castrogiovanni because his wild hairstyle and manner put fear into the opposition. Dan Cole’s rise at Leicester has made it tough for him but he’s still a fantastic player and more of an attacking threat. He plays a bit looser and can be destructive.
The LocalFull back is not Andrea Masi’s best position but his stay at Wasps has improved his game. His knowledge of Premiership players means he should have ideas of how to unlock the English defence.
The Big HitterCentre Gonzalo Canale enjoys the big hit so he will not be frightened in opposing two strong centres in Manu Tuilagi and Brad Barritt. He’s very underrated yet he will be winning his 81st cap on Sunday. He is consistency personified and is a key man in Italy’s defensive organisation. He will be a threat to the England midfield and will not be overawed. He looks a tough character.
Strong challenge: Gonzalo Canale executes a tackle on Wales' Alex Cuthbert The Future StarScrum-half Edoardo Gori looks to be a star of the future and England will be very wary of him after he tore holes in Leicester’s defence in two Heineken Cup games. He also helped make a try against the Ospreys from 90 metres out. He reminds me of Ben Youngs and though he’s a slight lad he never shies away from contact. He has a good temperament and does not look arrogant.
