'I'm single', insists Sienna Miller as prepares for opening night of her new West End play

It's not long until curtain up on Sienna Miller's latest West End role in Flare Path.

But the actress has insisted audience members shouldn't be looking out for any real-life chemistry with her co-star Joe Armstrong.

Pictured leaving her last rehearsals before previews start at the Theatre Royal Haymarket on Friday, the 29-year-old insisted there was no romance between the pair.

'I'm single': Sienna Miller, pictured leaving rehearsals at the Theatre Royal Haymarket yesterday, has laughed off reports she is dating her co-star

Miller broke her silence this week on her January split with Jude Law, insisting it was 'amicable and mutual'.

And she admits she finds speculation she is now in a relationship with Armstrong 'ridiculous'.

She tells Time Out London: 'I'm single! Poor Joe is like, "What's going on?"

'We all find it ridiculous and laughable. I do feel very picked apart by it.

Getting ready: Miller is busying herself with rehearsals of Flare Path, which opens on Friday

'When two people have separated and have both stated that it's amicable and mutual yet, regardless of that, it's not a nice feeling to have people talk about you behind your back and for it not to be true and for you not to be able to retaliate.'

Miller and Law, 38, announced they had split last month after just over a year together.

They originally started dating in September 2003 after meeting on the set of the Alfie remake and became engaged on Christmas Day 2004.

Miller and Law ended up calling off their engagement in July 2005 after the actor confessed to having an affair with his former children's nanny Daisy Wright. They briefly reconciled before splitting for good in November that year.

Feeling nervous? Miller will be hoping she impresses the critics this time round after mixed reviews for the last West End outing

'Ridiculous': Miller laughed off rumours of a new romance with co-star Joe Armstrong

Since splitting from Law, she's also been romantically linked to publishing heir Dan MacMillan and actor Tom Sturridge.

Set during World War II, Flare Path stars Miller as actress Patricia Graham, who is torn between her husband Teddy (Harry Hadden-Paton) and old flame Peter Kyle (James Purefoy)

Robin Hood star Armstrong plays Sergeant Dusty, best friend of Teddy, while Sheridan Smith plays Doris, Countess Skriczevinsky - a fellow guest of the same hotel as the Grahams.

No doubt Miller will be hoping theatre critics will be kinder to her this time.

Both her Broadway and West End debuts failed to impress critics in 2009 and 2005 respectively.

The New York Times labelled her performance in After Miss Julie as a 'novice', while the Wall Street Journal's Terry Teachout wrote: 'All she does is stalk around the stage striking vampy poses... she has no more business playing a classic stage role than I have posing for the cover of Vogue.'

Six years ago when she made her theatre debut in As You Like It in the West End, her acting abilities were dismissed as an 'amateur'.

At the time, The Independent's Paul Taylor said: 'Limited to roughly two gestures, facial expressions and tones of voice, wooden Ms Miller has repeatedly to resort to the amateur's tactic - when in doubt, shout and exaggerate.'
