Heather Mills sued by former publicist who says she 'lied about Paul McCartney attack'

Heather Mills has denied any knowledge of a fresh lawsuit filed in the U.S. claiming that she lied about the 'abuse' she suffered at the hands of Paul McCartney when they were married.

The former soft porn model is said to have made up allegations she was beaten up by the former Beatle during their troubled marriage.

Her claim that he was a drunk and abused drugs was also a lie, the lawsuit says.

New claims: Heather Mills is being sued by a former publicist over claims her ex-husband Sir Paul McCartney 'attacked her'

Ms Mills was famously branded a fantasist by the High Court judge who presided over her divorce hearing.

Now these claims could also potentially open the door to perjury charges should it be proved that she lied during the case.

However, a spokesman for Mills said: ‘Parapluie Inc threatened to file a lawsuit against Heather Mills in 2008.

‘Their allegations were unsubstantiated, a lawsuit was never filed and the matter was subsequently dropped.

‘We are unaware of any new lawsuit nor any reason for one.’

Mills got divorced from McCartney in 2008 and was awarded a £24.3million settlement, far short of the £125million she had been seeking.

I quit: Parapluie PR Michele Elyzabeth quit as Mills' representative in 2008, calling her 'impossible'

During the court case papers filed by her lawyers made a series of lurid allegations against him including the claim he was a ‘vindictive’ man who once tried to choke her.

The 69-year-old was also said to have once stabbed Mills in the arm with a broken wine glass and drunk and used illegal drugs excessively.

In a lawsuit filed by her former PR company Parapluie, however, Mills is accused of making such claims up.

U.S. gossip website TMZ said she once told one of her publicists: ‘I could kill Paul, last night, he tried to choke me. The marriage is over’ even though it was not true.

The lawsuit also accuses her of failing to give all of the money she earned from appearing on the U.S. version of Dancing With The Stars to charity, despite promising to do so.

Parapluie claims she instead only gave away a percentage.

It also supposedly claims that Mills was offered a chance to appear on the U.S. version of Celebrity Apprentice but would only accept it Donald Trump guaranteed she would win.

When he refused she did not appear on the show.

Parapluie is suing for unpaid fees totaling $168,000, a sum Mills could easily afford given her huge divorce settlement.

The 43-year-old demanded five times the amount she was awarded - but still walked away with about £11,000 for each day of the marriage.

Miss Mills also took home payments of £35,000 a year for a nanny and school costs for their daughter Beatrice.

It was a considerable chunk of McCartney’s £400million fortune which he made primarily from his music career.

At the time, Miss Mills said she was ‘very, very happy’ with the settlement but the High Court judge who presided over the hearing attacked her ‘warped perception’ of the world and said she ‘indulged in make-believe’.

Mr Justice Bennett also criticised her ‘explosive and volatile character’, saying she was ‘her own worst enemy’.

In the aftermath Mills embarked on a string of TV interviews in which she tried to portray herself as the victim, not McCartney.

She has since made a concerted effort to establish herself in America and rehabilitate her image with appearances on a string of TV shows.

McCartney has been dating American heiress Nancy Shevell, 50, for more than two years having met her in luxury U.S. district the Hamptons, where he owns a house.

His first wife, Linda, died from breast cancer in 1998.

He married Mills in 2002 - with their daughter Beatrice born in 2003 - but they split four years later.
