Wigan have refused to let their recent relegation to the Championship dampen the celebrations of their historic FA Cup victory over Manchester City.
Manager Roberto Martinez and several first-team players appear likely to leave but the mood is clearly a positive one and understandably so given the scale of their achievement.
The victorious players and manager today embarked on an open-top bus tour of the town of Wigan to thank the fans for their support throughout their FA Cup campaign and, as is appropriate following such an achievement, the turn-out was impressive.

Wigan went into the Cup final as underdogs but proved more than a match for City who were slightly sidetracked by the future of Roberto Mancini which was being questioned on the eve of the game.
Nevertheless, Wigan deserved their 1-0 victory, with Ben Watson proving the hero when he headed in from a corner after coming on as a second half substitute.
As for Martinez, his future seems destined to be away from the Championship, with Everton favourites to snap up the Spaniard.
