England squad for second Test v New Zealand at Headingley

England are set to name the same XI that won the first Test against New Zealand for the series finale at Headingley this week.

In what is the final Test before the Ashes start in July, England's selectors have kept faith in a batting line-up that twice collapsed at Lord's last week.

Ahead of the start of the second Test on Friday, players from both camps were pictured enjoying a night out together at Mayfair's Whisky Mist club on Monday night.

England squad to play New Zealand at Headingley (May 24-28):

Alastair Cook (c), James Anderson, Jonny Bairstow, Ian Bell, Tim Bresnan, Stuart Broad, Nick Compton, Steven Finn, Matt Prior, Joe Root, Graeme Swann, Jonathan Trott

Either Nick Compton or Jonny Bairstow will make way for the returning Kevin Pietersen for the Ashes and both will be keen to impress in Yorkshire.

Ian Bell and Graeme Swann have both been suffering from illness but are selected for the Test as England look to continue their unbeaten start to 2013.

Steven Finn is expected to keep his place in the starting XI but Tim Bresnan is putting the out-of-form seamer under pressure and makes the 12-man squad again.

Selector Geoff Miller said: 'It was pleasing to start the international summer with a win over New Zealand in the first Investec Test and I thought the team showed a lot of fighting spirit when under pressure to set up the victory.

'We are aware that there are still areas that we need to improve on and the players and coaches will be working hard ahead of the second Test to ensure we continue to get better as a side.

'New Zealand showed again that they are a dangerous side and we know we will need to produce another strong performance this week to secure a series victory.'
