Becks loses appeal: Judges rule David Beckham CAN'T sue over false claims he slept with hooker
Despite the magazine accepting the claims were false, judges ruled that the US Constitution entitled Nici to free speech

David Beckham has lost a court appeal to sue an American magazine which published claims he slept with a prostitute. The star, who vehemently denies allegations made by Bosnian hooker Irma Nici, was seeking $25million (just over £16.5million) from popular US publication In Touch. It follows their story in which Nici alleged Becks, 37, paid for romps in New York and London. But despite the magazine later accepting the claims were false, judges at the Appeals Court in LA ruled on Thursday that the US Constitution entitled Nici, 27, to free speech.

A source close to Becks said: “David will continue to fight without question until it becomes impossible to do so within the US Constitution. "It is a point of principle.” Of his court defeat, a spokesman for Beckham said: “This story has been proven to be false, the magazine now accepts it to be fabricated. "However we will continue to prove the magazine showed purposeful intent.” Becks is pursuing a separate claim against Nici but a source said: “Nici has gone to ground – it’s as if she has completely vanished.”
