Zynga and Bwin.Party Introduce Real Money Poker Games to Facebook Users
The temperature increases in the online poker market, with the breaking news that Zynga and Bwin.Party will introduce a poker skin on Facebook
The poker gaming behemoths Zynga and Bwin.Party both had difficulties with cash flow in 2012, with Zynga introducing a cost-cutting programme to shave $15-20 million off the bottom line of EBIT, and Bwin.Party seeing a 33% decline in cash game profits. But in October, Zynga and Bwin.Party announced a working partnership that would open up the portcullis between the 7.5 million Zynga users and the PartyGaming community. A network that hosts the second largest online poker pool in the world - PartyPoker - and two smaller skins in WPTPoker and EmpirePoker. ZyngaPlusPoker and ZyngaPlusCasino is only available for the lucky customers in the U.K. for now."It's an exciting move to bring players the real money games they have been asking for" says Barry Cottle of Zynga. So nothing to do with the lorries full of cash that soon will be heading to the bank from Zynga and Bwin.Party headquarters? This is great news for poker. When Full Tilt Poker (FTP) were shunned into hiding during the dark clouds of Black Friday, the marketplace lost a competitive edge. PokerStars thrived and then purchased FTP to become even more dominant in the online poker world. But an oligopoly is never good for man nor beast, as proves the case in poker's wild landscape."Our long term vision is to offer our players the next generation of real money games on multiple platforms in regulated markets worldwide. We take responsible gaming seriously and are proud to partner with Bwin.Party, an industry leader and a reputable company that is fully licensed by a premier regulatory authority." Said Barry Cottle.
