Police are searching for the owner of a unique 24-carat gold bracelet that has been found in a street in one of London's poorest areas.
The bracelet, which is said to be one of a kind, was found in Peckham, south London and handed into police.
The bangle has been valued and examined by jewellers, who say it is 'one of a kind'.
The pure gold bracelet has been valued at £30,000. It was handed into police after being found on a street in Peckham
An expert said: 'Each cut-out panel is ornately done. This piece is clearly handmade.
'It is highly likely that there is no other bracelet like this expensive item of jewellery that looks like a custom design- someone may have asked to have this made for them.
'A jeweller might see the picture and remember making it- it's that distinctive.'
Police hope that the bracelet's distinctive design will help them find the owner of the expensive piece
The exotic bangle has eight oval-shaped panels, each with ornate cut-outs depicting a different scene.
Temple buildings, palm trees, mythical creatures and the sun feature on the bracelet, which looks more likely to be found in an Egyptian tomb than in Peckham.
Kent Police said that the bracelet is believed to have been stolen and they are appealing for its owner - or anyone who recognises it - to come forward.
