It is an snapshot of Britain in a unique way - by surname.
A team of London researchers has created an interactive map showing the most popular surnames across the country.
It reveals not just the traditional family names held in the electoral roll, but also the twitter usernames taken from over 32 million tweets.
Use the slider to zoom in on the map below (second image), and the check boxes to show electoral roll and twitter names.
The first image is a grab of what should display. Due to high demand you may have to wait a few moments for the interactive map to load.
'The idea behind creating this map was to see the distribution of different surnames across Great Britain,' said Dr Muhammad Adnan of University College London, who built the map with colleague Alistair Leak.
'It shows some of the common surnames many people have in the country, such as Smith, Jones, Brown and Williams, but also gives us an indication of the ethnic mix in the major urban areas, in particular London, Birmingham, and Manchester.'
The map also reveals where names are most common, giving the researchers a glimpse into their history.

'It shows the Ethnic roots of the different Surnames,' said Dr Adnan.
For the twitter surnames, the team analysed the 'user names' of 32 million geo-tagged tweets downloaded during September, 2012 to April, 2013 across Britain.

Surnames were then mapped to the 8920 wards across Great Britain, and coded in different colors according to their origin - be it English, Welsh etc.
However, for the 'normal' data, the team used the electoral roll.
'We analysed 2007 Electoral Roll data to come up with the common Surnames in each of the 8920 wards across Great Britain, said Adnan.
'The Electoral Roll data is the perfect reflection of the population in Great Britain.
'It is a carefully collected dataset with uniform levels of uncertainty.'
However, the researchers admit the twitter data is more difficult to analyse.
'The twitter data, however, is a bit noisy - this is because the uneven adoption rate of Twitter in Great Britain.'
The team previously created a map of London surnames, but decided to broaden it to the whole of the UK for the latest version.
