The Salt Lake City Police Department has begun training recruits from law enforcement agencies all over Utah to join its SWAT team.
The week-long SWAT school training involves intense physical, strategy and decision-making tasks, to ensure that those who successfully complete the course are best of the best.
‘We are short right now on the SWAT team, so we are looking for somebody to join the team,’ Salt Lake City Police Sergeant Robin Heiden, told Fox 13.
Officers completed an obstacle course on their first day of training on Sunday while aiming for three- to four-minute completion times.
Throughout the week, officers will run through a series of other physical and decision-making tests.
