Sarah Palin Tesla, Tesla Motors Founder Elon Musk on Monday responded to Sarah Palin's claim that his company is a "loser."
Palin criticized Tesla in a Facebook post on Friday that lumped Tesla in with Fisker Automotive, a hybrid luxury sedan maker that received a $193 million low-interest loan from the federal government. Fisker announced last week it was laying off about 75% of its staff.
The Anaheim, CA-based start up has failed at pretty much every level – especially when it comes to the company’s ultra expensive luxury electric hybrid, the Karma (what a name!), which is assembled in Finland and received a green-energy loan to transition the assembly to the U.S., something that never happened.
This losing tax-subsidized venture joins other past losers like the Obama-subsidized Volt that gets 40 miles per battery charge, or like the Obama-subsidized Tesla that turns into a "brick" when the battery completely discharges and then costs $40,000 to repair.
The "bricking" occurs when the Roadster is unplugged for a long period of time, like two months. However, Tesla claims you can't brick a Model S.
This isn't the first time that Musk's company has been taken to task by Obama Administration critics. During the presidential debates last October, GOP candidate Mitt Romney also called Tesla a "loser". Musk later responded that Romney "was right about the object of that statement, but not the subject."
