Ellen DeGeneres may have finally found a place to settle down.
According to the upcoming cover story in the May issue of Elle Decor, the 55 year-old daytime talk show host and comedian has moved repeatedly throughout her time in Los Angeles.
However, the ranch which she bought in 2009 with 40 year-old actress and wife Portia de Rossi in the nearby Santa Monica Mountains, may be a place they call home permanently.
'I
can only change the furniture so much and I get bored.' DeGeneres told
Elle Decor, when explaining why she has moved so often, 'Then I need a
new structure to work on.'
'I got a very thorough education in mid-20th-century French furniture within the first weeks of our dating,' De Rossi said, with a smile.
De Rossi thought it would take Degeneres years to completely redecorate.
'I thought it might take Ellen five years to finish the project and she did it in one,' De Rossi tells Elle. 'It was shocking!
Located in an area known as Hidden Valley, the 26 acre property was originally the estate of 1920's actor William Powell.
Later it became a monastery and then a rehab center.
In the heart of the property are two large barns, informally known as the Art Barn and the Romantic barn.
The darker, more brooding romantic barn gets it's name from the first anniversary DeGeneres and De Rossi celebrated there over a candlelight dinner.
The romantic barn also serves as a game room for ping-pong and poker and is opened up for larger parties, hosting friends like Diane Keaton, Jamie Foxx and Jennifer Aniston.
While DeGeneres continues her daily daytime talk show, De Rossi will be returning to the small screen on May 26th when Netflix premieres a brand new 15 episode season of the top-notch comedy Arrested Development.
The new issue of Elle Decor will be on newsstands April 16th.

Artfully decorated: DeGeneres decorated all eight of the cabins on the property
'When we bought the place, it was a professional horse facility,' DeGeneres explains. 'But it was really not taken care of.'
This happened to be perfect for the vegan comic couple.
While DeGeneres worked her way from building to building redecorating in a natural yet rustic style, De Rossi was able to explore her own on-site passion: riding horses.
She currently owns two mares, named Maeby after her character's daughter on Arrested Development, and Mcy, pronounced Macy.
