Molly Ringwald looked pretty in white as the actress turned author showed off her legs on Saturday at an outdoor book event.
The star of the 1986 John Hughes' movie Pretty In Pink looked radiant while reading passages from her 2012 collection of stories When It Happens To You at the Los Angeles Festival of Books.
Molly wore a simple short-sleeve, mid-thigh white cotton dress that bared plenty of leg to the event held on the University of Southern California campus.
The 45-year-old actress completed the outfit with a pair of high-heeled, gladiator-style shoes.
The bright white dress provided a slight contrast to her pale porcelain skin and was complemented by her vibrant red hair.
Molly read passages aloud onstage and also signed copies of her 256-page book.
She posted a message on
Twitter about her favorite part of the day: 'Today's highlight: Meeting
the great Carol Burnett. #labookfestival'
The Breakfast Club and Sixteen Candles star has appeared determined to shed her adolescent persona lately with her writing and singing.
She released her debut album this month featuring her singing jazz songs.
The album includes her rendition of Don't You [Forget About Me], the 1985 song by Simple Minds featured in The Breakfast Club.
Ringwald has said the song is a tribute to the late Hughes.
Molly also has written the memoir Getting The Pretty Back.
She lives in Los Angeles with her husband and three children.
