Never mind nuclear war, North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un is the latest politician to endorse gay marriage... according to SNL
The terrifying threat of nuclear war got the comedic sendup on this week's Saturday Night Live as the show spoofed North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
During the sketch comedy show's opening segment, actor Bobby Moynihan played the North Korean dictator giving a speech before an adoring crowd.
Moynihan, as the leader of the Communist country, said he was there to announce two major developments in policy - first, that the country was re-starting its nuclear reactors, and second that he had changed his opposition to gay marriage
Position 'evolves': Bobby Moynihan playing North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un reverses his previous opposition to gay marriage during this week's Saturday Night Live
'After much thought and soul searching, I have decided to lift our nation's ban on same sex marriage,' the dictator said.
'It is simply the right thing to do. As you know, I have taken a different view on same sex marriage but lately my thinking on this issue has evolved,' he says, echoing similar statements from many actual U.S. senators in recent days as support for the issue gains majority acceptance in America.
The dictator says his position changed because of his nephew, who is gay - much like Republican Sen. Rob Portman who supported gay marriage after his son came out.
'I still had to have him executed. But not because he was gay but because he was holding a weekly book discussion group at his apartment,' the dictator said.
He then goes on to specify that he has no personal interest in gay marriage and has had sex with '17 and one half million women' in which 'each experienced the first orgasm of their lives.
'This is not a joke, you can applaud,' he instructs the crowd.

He goes on to add his record is '108 times' in one night, which he has chosen not to break out of concern for the women he is with.
The dictator, whose father was known for his incredible boasts that defied all logic, also said he successfully picked every game in his NCAA bracket, including picking underdogs Wichita State and Florida Gulf Coast with his 'uncanny vision and heroic foresight.'
That's when he introduced former NBA great, and North Korean visitor, Dennis Rodman, who took criticism earlier this year when he went to the oppressive country and said Kim Jong Un 'was a friend for life.'
Rodman then delivered the show's iconic opening words, 'Live, from New York, it's Saturday Night.'

Later in the show, the cast, including guest host actress Melissa McCarthy, mocked the scandal at Rutgers University when its men's basketball coach Mike Rice was fired after video of him being abusive to players was leaked to the media.
McCarthy played a coach, Sheila Kelly, at Middle Delaware State, who was even more over the top in her antics.
She was seen kicking her players, yelling profanities at them, throwing toasters and bricks at them, threatening them baseball bats and tasering them.
'You take that ball and put it through that hole and I won't hit you with the bat,' she yells at one player practicing a foul shot.

When the interviewer pointed out that her teams have compiled a 3-81 record in three seasons, she says that's because he best players are always injured.
She refused to admit that she is the one who hurt them.
