Life imitating art: Artist recreates famous Edward Hopper paintings with collection of stunning photographs
They are stunning images which pay tribute to the work of a renowned painter.
Although there initially seems little between them, one set are photographs and the other the paintings on which they are based.
For his project, Richard Tuschman decided to recreate the paintings of Edward Hopper by photographing famous scenes from his hero's work.
As reported by Flavorwire, Mr Tuschman decided to embark on the ambitious project because of his appreciation of Hopper's work.
He said: 'I have always loved the way his paintings, with an economy of means, are able to address the mysteries and complexities of the human condition.'
In his stunning photographs, Mr Tuschman uses his subjects to emulate the vibrant characters in Hopper's paintings.
Famous scenes from the original paintings, such as a naked woman looking out of a window and a woman sat deep in thought next to a sleeping man on a bed, are re-enacted.
However, although Hopper's
paintings are famed for posing more questions than answers, Mr Tuschman
also poses new and interesting mysteries, offering his own unique take
on the paintings.
Mr Tuschman creates photographic images for book covers and magazines. In the early 1990s he started experimenting with digital imaging.
His award-winning work has been widely recognised around the world and has found a wide audience in the commercial sector.
