There was a lot of concern for Rimes in the past few years as she started getting smaller and thinner every single time she appeared in public. She was already skinny to begin with so when her bones started showing through and more prominently, rumors started to fly.
What everyone does know for sure is that Rimes had a very stressful personal life and it was spilling over into the spotlight. Stress from multiple situations caused her to lose a great deal of weight, but she was never anorexic.
"People said I was [anorexic], but I didn't have a problem with eating, as I ate a ton all the time -- I could eat my husband under the table!" she tells the U.K. publication. "But I was going through a time when I just wasn't sleeping -- my mind wouldn't shut off and my heart was breaking."
A lot of the stress came from the formerly private, but then very public, affair with Eddie Cibrian, who is now her husband. The former husband of "Real Housewife" Brandi Glanville met Rimes when the singer was still married to dancer Dean Sheremet.
The affair started, it got ugly for a while, and now they're married. Rimes says that a lot of the stress is now gone so her weight loss isn't a problem anymore.
"Now I'm secure about my body, although I'm like any other woman and have my moments of self-doubt. But it's nice to have a husband who tells you you're beautiful all the time," she gushes. "I'll say to him, 'I've gained a few pounds,' and he'll say, 'Good!'"
"It just gives you another level of confidence," she continues. "But being in this business, I've noticed that image-wise, it's definitely worse for a woman."
The main thing here is that people speak too much before knowing the full truth, and such is the case and the rumors about LeeAnne Rimes that she rightfully denies.
