'When you have young children and you’re working, you know, you never rest,' she said. 'It’s like you’re racing to get home. And my body sort of went kaput a little bit.'
'Then my doctor said you really need to clean up your diet and we’ll change all this blood work and it really worked,' she added.
'I thought I’d like to make a book that’s not as restrictive as that but that’s a little bit healthier and really, really good comfort food so you don’t feel like you’re cutting anything out. You know, that makes you feel better, lose weight and have more energy,' she said.
Responding to criticism about her comment that she deprives her children of carbs, the star said:
'People get things very wrong and don't open the book and see what is what.'
