This shapeless knitted tea cosy
garment by avant-garde London designers Sister by Sibling made its debut
in their catwalk show at London Fashion Week, along with oversized
berets with pompoms and matching scarves.
The designers say their inspiration was the late pop icon Paula Yates, claiming ‘she was the perfect English rose - the punk version'.
I knew Paula pretty well, and she
never appeared in anything that didn't flatter her figure and radiate
sex appeal. The gorgeous cocktail frocks she wore on cult TV shows The
Tube and Big Breakfast were often by her favourite designer, Anthony
Price.
Paula would have taken one look at this outfit and laughed her head off. Can a tea cosy ever be seductive?
