That didn’t stop blundering workmen painting two sets of double yellow lines along it though.
Spaced just 13 inches apart, the lines run the length of the 60ft path in Swindon. Residents were baffled when they appeared.

Shopkeeper Ray Mudhar said: ‘It’s one of the stupidest things I’ve ever seen. When me and my mate saw it we just laughed our heads off.
‘It’s a waste of time, waste of money and waste of material. The only thing you could get down there would be a bike and no-one is going to leave a bike parked up there.’
Sales assistant Emma Stratford, 22, added: ‘When the bushes are overgrown you can hardly even walk down there. It has definitely been a waste of money.’
Last night a spokesman for Swindon Borough Council apologised for the blunder.
‘It seems our contractors forgot just how big cars actually are when they painted this one,’ he said. ‘We will be taking it up with them.’

There is just 13 inches of space between the two sets of yellow lines - which is roughly the width of just one tyre on a supercar.
Nathalie Fisher, who lives near the alleyway said they were a 'bit of a mystery'.
She added: 'You couldn't even fit a motorbike down it.'
