Bow in the presence of greatness: Robert Downey Jr. falls to his knees as he meets a mini Iron Man during Beijing premiere
Tony Stark is known to comic lovers as the billionaire playboy and engineer who thinks extremely highly of himself.
But on Saturday actor Robert Downey Jr., who takes on the role of Stark in the film adaption, was brought to his knees as he met his match.
Humbled at the Beijing premiere of Iron Man 3 by the sighting of a mini-me, the 48-year-old took a bow as he acknowledged the young fan's costume.
Dressed in the red, gold and
silver armor - minus the helmet - the fanatic beamed as Robert praised
his attire while he presented the actor with an envelope.
Leaving his superhero gear on set, the father-of-two looked dapper in a purple suit which he dressed down with a pair of trainers as he sported thick rimmed leopard spectacles.
Joined by co-star Wang Xueqi, who plays Dr. Wu in the Shane Black directed film, Robert took a seat as he went into detail about the new Iron Man movie.
While on stage Robert was seen checking out a local delicacy in front of the cameras before he explored whether it would send his taste-buds singing.
Never one to back down from a challenge: Robert was seen nibbling on the treat as the camera rolled
Talking at a recent press conference in South Korea, Robert admitted that he is still stunned by the reception the Iron Man franchise has received over the years.
Speaking about his decision to take on the role of Tony Stark, he said: 'Five years ago, I had really no idea whether it was going to be embraced by the public or not.'
'I find myself looking at this poster and still sometimes wondering how this would happen. So my relationship over the years has become one of, a kind of increasing humility and a lot of gratitude.'
